FOOD 4 KIDS
|
Summer & School Break Lunch Program
Nutritious, bountiful lunches are prepared each weekday during the summer and school breaks. These lunches include a sandwich or wrap, healthy chip option, fresh fruit, dairy item, snack item, and small dessert. The lunches are delivered to children participating in local camps and enrichment programs as well as to children living in neighborhoods within Kendall County in need. In partnership with the Patrick Heath Public Library (PHPL), we also deliver lunches to children registered for our “Library Lunch Bunch” program. These children have the opportunity to receive a free lunch and enjoy all the educational services offered at our local library. To donate to our Summer Food Drive click here. |
Hearts of Love Weekend Food Bags
Each weekend food bag consists of 4 meals and a variety of snacks. They include 2 packaged breakfast and lunch items, shelf stable milk, fresh fruit, plus dairy, grain, and protein snacks. Throughout the year, the bags are delivered to children residing at the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) Meadowland campus. During the summer break, the weekend food bags are delivered to children participating in the Summer Lunch Program as well. |
CAMPS 4 KIDS
|
Camp Scholarship Program
Love Kendall County Kids partners with area clubs and organizations to provide enrichment opportunities for children throughout the year. We promote these opportunities to eligible families and encourage parents to enroll their children in participating camps. Our current camp partners include Boerne Gymnastics Center, Boerne Soccer Club, Boys & Girls Club, Cibolo Center for Conservation, Maker’s Place, Stillwater Champ Camp, and the YMCA. |
BEDS 4 KIDS
|
Bunk Beds
This program provides new bunk beds, mattresses, comforters, sheets, and pillows for children without beds in Kendall County. A proper bed is a basic need for a child’s emotional, mental, and physical health. Every child should have a safe and comfortable bed to sleep in at night! |
HOME REPAIRS 4 KIDS
|
LOVE My Community Workdays
The BCC typically organizes one or two workdays each year in neighborhoods with homes in need of critical repairs. These days include volunteers working alongside the homeowners for cleanup and repair, coordinated children’s games and activities, and a shared meal with the volunteers and neighborhood families. Additionally, the BCC organizes LOVE My Neighborhood Days in which neighbors, along with outside volunteers, come together to perform exterior cleanup and debris removal in their community. |
